Hello

I would like to welcome to you Karis Academy, where education is more than just knowledge; it's a journey of virtue, knowledge, and faith.

At Karis Academy, we are committed to nurturing not only the minds but also the hearts and souls of our students. Our Christian values are at the core of everything we do, and we emphasize the development of virtues that shape responsible, compassionate, and principled individuals.

As you explore our website, you'll discover information about Karis and much about our philosophy toward education. Our mission is to empower each student with the knowledge, skills, and moral foundation to thrive in today's world while remaining steadfast in their faith.

We encourage you to engage with us, ask questions, and become an active member of our community. Together, we can create a nurturing environment where the pursuit of knowledge is harmoniously aligned with the pursuit of Christ-like character.

Thank you for choosing Karis Academy as your educational home. We're excited to embark on this educational journey with you.

My Story

My story is not filled with much variety- actually, it is rather straightforward, but I am thankful for the opportunities that God has allowed me to experience. I had the unique opportunity to grow up in a large family- eight children (I was third). At a young age, I realized my need for Christ and accepted him as my savior. I was homeschooled until my tenth-grade year when I began attending a private school near Nashville, TN. After graduating from high school, I attended a private college in East Tennessee and studied Secondary Education. Upon earning my undergraduate degree, I moved back toward Nashville and taught at the school that I had graduated from four years earlier. During my time teaching there, I earned a graduate degree in education. Earning that degree opened the door to allow me the opportunity to move into administration. God allowed me to use my graduate degree to accept a position as a private school administrator in Waupaca, WI. As a school administrator, I had the unique opportunity to work with families in the education of their children. Through collaboration with stakeholders, board members, and teachers, the school began to thrive. During this time, I earned my doctoral degree in educational leadership. As that season ended, God burdened me to begin a school with the purpose of training students in that which is good, true, and beautiful. As that purpose is reached, the community will be strengthened and students will be allowed to thrive in and after their adolescent years.

My wife, Kourtney, and I have three children, Alivia, Amy, and Kade. As a family, we enjoy being outside together. Family walks and bike rides are activities that we enjoy and frequently do. Reading books like the Chronicles of Narnia, Little House on the Prairie, the Sanctus Chronicles, Bible story books, and a plethora of children's books are nightly engagements that we enjoy.
